September 1, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 10:00 pm
5K with 2,000ft of Elevation Gain
This unique uphill 5K race at sunset takes participants from the base of Mammoth Mountain to the 11,053′ summit on e-bike, mountain bike or by foot. The race course follows the legendary Kamikaze bike trail weaving up Mammoth’s back side. With $3K in prize money on the line, the stakes for the summer challenge are high. Friends and family can greet racers at the finish line with an evening gondola ride to the top, including a spectacular Sierra sunset and join in all the fun at the Summit Sunset Party.
About Ezakimak
Ezakimak is Kamikaze spelled backwards. Our legendary Kamikaze mountain bike trail spans from Mammoth Mountain’s peak down to Main Lodge, weaving through the “back side” of the mountain. In winter 2015, we started this backwards fun by sending cross-country skiers, snowshoers and runners on a snowy uphill race. After the success of the winter Ezakimak, we kept the idea going and brought a summer version to the dirt for runners and mountain bikers.
